These are inorganic components whose content in the tissue is lower than that of major minerals. But that's not all: the selenium content in plant foods varies greatly because it depends on the respective soils. In Europe we have mainly selenium-poor soils. With a purely plant-based diet, you should therefore always ensure your intake of selenium, because it is associated with a number of important functions. In general, selenium contributes to the normal function of the immune system and the maintenance of normal hair. By the way, selenium is naturally found in plant foods such as Brazil nuts, cabbage (e.g. white cabbage), mushrooms, asparagus and legumes. You can also cover your selenium requirements with animal foods such as meat or eggs. So you don't necessarily have to take our tablets, but can also maintain your selenium intake with the foods mentioned.
