Schonmal über die Bedeutung dieses Satzes nachgedacht? Und nein - es hat nichts mit einem magischen Zauberspruch im Märchen zu tun. Sesamsamen reifen in kleinen Kapseln heran. Wenn diese reif werden, platzen sie einfach von alleine auf… der Sesam öffnet sich!

Kleiner Sesam in großen Tüten

Wenn das mal keine ordentliche Grundlage ist. Die kleinen Samen werden nach der Ernte in großen Säcken in die Musproduktion transportiert. KoRo ist zwar bekannt für große Tüten aber das wäre dann doch etwas übertrieben. Deshalb wird jetzt erstmal umgefüllt.

Auf zu Farbe und Konsistenz

Damit unser weißes Tahin seinem Namen gerecht wird, muss der Sesam geschält werden. Aber dann haben wir doch immer noch grobe Samen - wo bleibt unsere geliebte Muskonsistenz? Die kommt im nächsten Schritt: Jetzt wird gemahlen. Der Sesam verwandelt sich in ein cremiges Wunder - da wünscht man sich glatt eine Kelle zum Löffeln.

Noch ein bisschen zu groß

Auch wenn Du lieber gleich die große Wanne aus dem letzten Bild bestellen würdest… wird unser Tahinmus nochmal in Gläser befüllt. What is the shelf life for tahini?

To optimize the shelf life of your tahini, you should store the jar in a dry, cool place at about 15-25 degrees. So your refrigerator is actually already too cold for the sesame paste. But then the product will keep for at least 30 months directly after production!

What is tahini and how is the taste?

Tahin is also called Tahina or Tahini and is a mush or a paste, which is made from finely ground sesame seeds. Can I make tahini myself?

Sure, and we'll show you how it's done. The main ingredient is, of course, sesame seeds, but you can also use other ingredients such as agave syrup (for sweeter tahini) or crystal salt. The most important thing is a powerful blender, so that the puree also becomes nice and creamy. Toast the sesame seeds in a pan without oil (please stir constantly) until they are lightly browned. Then you can let it cool down briefly. Finally, put everything in the blender and puree until you get a creamy puree. By the way, this can take 10 minutes, because the seeds are first crushed before the oil comes out and it becomes nice and smooth.

Is the organic tahini vegan?

Yes, because our tahini is 100% sesame seeds, it is also suitable for vegan recipes.

Is tahini gluten-free?

Our organic tahini contains only ingredients that do not naturally contain gluten. However, depending on the growing area, there may be unknowing contamination with gluten-containing grains during harvesting or processing, which is why we do not label the product as gluten-free.
