We developed it with none other than our amazing colleagues at Rügenwalder Mühle, and the idea behind our cooperation was to make the food market a little greener. Minimal effort for maximum taste! Vegan bacon ready in a minute!

No matter whether you want to prepare vegan carbonara, a sandwich, or a full English breakfast: this vegan bacon is ready in no time! Simply pour 130 ml of hot water over the contents of the bag and stir well. The mix then needs to rest for at least 30 minutes, and in the meantime you can start chopping it up. As a last step, fry your bites in 3-4 tablespoons of rapeseed oil for 9-10 minutes over medium heat until crispy – and voilà!

Too little flavor

When I opened the packet, I was surprised at how close the smell is to the real bacon. After soaking them in a water bath, I was a little skeptical. The fact that you soak the bites in water and then fry them in a pan until crispy means that the whole process takes an extremely long time. I was also totally disillusioned by the taste after frying. I found them very tasteless without any roasted aromas.
