German maultaschen, Japanese gyōza, Russian pelmeni, Chinese won tons or Polish pierogi: dumplings of countless types with the most diverse fillings exist in almost every country around the world. One of our favourites: Italian tortelloni! At KoRo, you can buy the pasta with a vegetarian ricotta and spinach filling in a convenient 1 kg value pack! Get the Italian flavour into your home and onto your plate!

A divine type of pasta

Tortelloni not only taste heavenly, but truly have a divine origin. Have you ever wondered why these delicious little dumplings have such a special shape? If you believe an old legend, it's because they are shaped like Venus' navel. The goddess of love went to an inn, on a visit to Bologna, the home of tortellini. The cook could only catch a glimpse of her - and of her belly button, and made the pasta from there.

Tortellini vs. tortelloni?!

You almost overlook the small but subtle difference in spelling when reading. But maybe you've already asked yourself what the difference is between tortellini and tortelloni? Let's find out! Both types of pasta come from Italy, are filled and popular with everyone. However, they differ both in size and in their original filling: tortelloni are slightly larger dumplings and always have a vegetarian filling. The original tortellini are slightly smaller and traditionally filled with meat. KoRo's spinach and ricotta tortelloni, however, are guaranteed not to contain meat, but only a 100% vegetarian and 100% delicious filling of ricotta and spinach. These days, it has also become acceptable to fill not only tortelloni but also tortellini with vegetarian or even vegan fillings - even in Italy. Are you interested in tortellini with a vegan filling? Then try our organic pumpkin and apple tortellini.

What should you eat tortelloni with?

Originally, in Bologna, tortelloni were eaten only as a soup garnish. We love them way too much to only eat them in soups. There are so many possibilities: we love to make some pine nut pesto, which through its fine and lightly almonds-like aroma combines perfectly with the tortelloni. But a vegetarian bolognese sauce or a cream sauce with mushrooms are also great to put on the filled pasta. No time to cook or simply too lazy today? We make life easy for you: Grab a jar of KoRo's pesto verde or our pesto rosso and add to the cooked tortell0ni for a super quick meal! Our tomato sauces with basil, olives or mushrooms are also simple and delicious solutions for a quick lunch. Our tip: top your pasta with some vegan cashew parmesan for a vegan cheesy touch!

Questions & answers: Ricotta and spinach tortelloni 1kg
No search results.
The vegetarian filled dumplings taste great with delicious pesto, (ready-made) tomato sauce and a variety of homemade sauce recipes.
In the production process, the pasta dough is rolled out paper-thin, filled with spinach and ricotta, and then shaped into the familiar tortelloni shape.
The two types of pasta are similar not only in spelling, but also in production and taste. Both originated in Italy and refer to filled dumplings. Tortelloni are usually slightly larger and vegetarian. Tortellini, on the other hand, were traditionally usually filled with meat and served in a broth, but are now often found with vegan and vegetarian fillings. Try our organic tortellini with pumpkin and apple filling!
We recommend, depending on hunger, about 200-250 g of tortelloni per person.
If you store the tortelloni in the unopened package in a dark, cool and dry place, the dumplings will keep for at least five months. After opening, place the package in the refrigerator and eat the tortelloni within three days.
Of course, our tortelloni with ricotta and spinach filling are vegetarian - in keeping with Italian tradition - and taste great with vegetarian sauces and pesto.
The preparation of the tortelloni is very quick and simple. Simply put the pasta in boiling and salted water and cook for about 8-10 minutes. Then you can drain the pasta and serve it with a sauce of your choice.
Uncooked, our tortelloni with ricotta and spinach filling have 305 kcal per 100 g.
You can order our Tortelloni Ricotta Spinach online in the practical 1 kg advantage pack. They convince with their fresh, vegetarian and wonderfully aromatic filling of ricotta and spinach and thus bring a piece of dolce vita to your plate.

Perfect for me

These tortellinis have been tempting me for a long time. I finally gave in and I don't regret it. With a little Parmesan, it's a delight.

Good decision

I can only recommend fine tortellini, which can be prepared in so many ways.

I like them

I find them delicious and like them. They need a sauce, otherwise they are a bit boring. What I find problematic is the information that you should use them up within 3 days once opened. That's difficult with a quantity of 1 kg if you're single. I'll try freezing them in portions.

Cheap - yes. Good - well.

Top value for money. But I think they taste boring...
