Coconut oil is a real all-rounder, whether as food, beauty product or household remedy. The scent and taste of our coconut oil is quite subtle and unobtrusive, making it imply perfect to be used in many different ways.

Use coconut oil in your kitchen

Our organic coconut oil is perfect for cooking and baking, but also as a cosmetic. It is also suitable for heating up and frying, and it will add a fine, slightly sweet coconut note to your meal. In your baking creations, you can replace butter with coconut oil, which allows you to easily make recipes that require butter vegan.

Coconut oil for your beauty routine

The amazing coconut oil can be used as a natural hair conditioner, to hydrate dry skin, as a skin balm after waxing or shaving, for chapped lips, and even for dry and itchy scalp. Some even count on coconut oil for beard care, others use it to protect their teeth and gums. Coconut oil contains up to 60% lauric acid, to which ticks react strongly. That is why it is often used as a household remedy against ticks - also for pets. However, it does not provide absolute protection against tick bites. After spending time outdoors, you should still check for ticks. Safety first!

Our organic coconut oil is extracted from the flesh of freshly picked, ripe coconuts. The coconuts are harvested by hand, sorted and brought to the oil mill. The result is crystal clear, aromatic organic oil that is not refined or bleached. Coconut oil only becomes liquid at around 26 °C, which is why it is usually found in solid form at our latitudes. Our coconut oil is free from additives and comes from organic farming — buy now!

Climate impact

At KoRo, we analyse the greenhouse gas emissions that are produced during the production of our snacks. These include, among other things, CO2, methane and nitrous oxide. Our hard-working sustainability team collects all the information to calculate a value: the so-called CO2 equivalents. We are now passing this information on to you so that you can make informed purchasing decisions and keep an eye on your personal carbon footprint. We also use these valuable findings ourselves, to try to make our supply chains even smarter in the future and monitor our CO2 footprint.

CO₂ emissions by product

To make the work of our sustainability team easier, we have teamed up with the company Cozero. They support us with their decarbonisation software to calculate the CO2 emissions of our products. Our products go through a lot before they make their way into your pantry or snack bowl, so there is a lot to take into consideration: production, packaging, and logistics – to name just the big steps.

CO₂ emission per product in comparison

Would you like to find out how well your favourite snack stacks up against other products in terms of carbon footprint? Say no more! To create comparability, we calculated the CO₂ emissions per 1 kg of our products and compared them with other products that end up on many people's plates every day, such as cheese, tofu, and many more. We also included coffee as a drink for comparison. So no matter if it is your favourite snack or your go-to kitchen product, you are now able to see exactly how it performs in our “CO₂ per kg of product” ranking.

Comparison of CO₂ emissions per product in kg

Disclaimer: Different methods (comparison products) - The CO2 emissions of the non-KoRo products come from a different data source. Therefore, there may be differences between their evaluation method and the evaluation of KoRo products.

The difference lies in the production or extraction. Coconut puree is produced by grating, drying and grinding the white pulp of the nuts. Our organic coconut oil is cold pressed and differs from industrially produced refined coconut oil in its quality. We use only fruits from controlled organic cultivation. Particularly important in cold pressing is the rapid processing of freshly harvested coconuts to avoid contamination or spoilage of the valuable pulp and to ensure a pleasant taste. Thus, without long storage, the fruit is opened by hand, peeled, crushed into pieces and immediately pressed. The organic coconut oil thus obtained is refined, bleached nor deodorized. We also deliberately avoid chemical additives and preservatives - the organic coconut oil is only filtered and bottled on site.
