We have fruit preserves made with 75% fruit. Our plum jam is made with no sugar at all and is therefore 100% fruit (it contains only the natural fruit sugar from the plums).
How long do fruit preserves without sugar last?
Fruit preserves without sugar should be stored in the refrigerator and usually last about two to three weeks, as the lack of sugar reduces the shelf life. Always pay attention to the best-before date and store them in a cool place.
What is the difference between jam and marmalade?
The difference lies in the preparation and the fruits used. Jam usually contains only citrus fruits, while marmalade is made from other fruits and contains at least 55% sugar. Both varieties offer a fruity treat, but differ in consistency and taste and, compared to our fruit spreads, in sugar content.
