The fruit of the gods

Did you know that this nickname applies to mangoes in India? The popular fruit has always had a special place in Indian mythology and is considered the food of the gods in Hinduism. It certainly owes this honourable name to its sweet taste and golden colour. Even today it is presented as a gift to the gods and is a sign of wealth. Have we just given you a gift idea for your best friends? You're welcome! So that you can also use a little foodie knowledge, you will now learn something about the origin of the mango! Originally native to South Asia, it was first cultivated in India over 4,000 years ago. Over the centuries, the mango also spread to other parts of the world: from Asia to Africa, to the Caribbean and finally found its way onto your plate. Today, there are more than 1,000 varieties of mangoes. Of course we picked the cutest one of all for you! For our dried organic mango strips we use the Kent variety, which is characterised by its intense, fruity taste.
