Coconut water plus
Of course, a liter of coconut water offers even more possibilities than just pure enjoyment. Pineapple chunks, orange, lemon or lime slices give the coconut water a fruity taste without drowning out its own flavor. Whole berries also look particularly pretty in a glass. And you can simply use frozen fruit to cool off in the summer.
Herbs and flowers in coconut water
Fresh mint leaves seem to go with almost everything - so they also look great in your coconut water. Lemon balm, rosemary, thyme or even sage also add a special touch to your drink. Or how about a chilled glass of coconut water with the spicy freshness of basil?
You can also use flowers to spice up the look and taste of your coconut water, e.g. rose petals, violets, pansies - yes, the flowers are actually edible - or lavender.
The fresh herbs and flowers also look really good in a glass with a few ice cubes.
Spice it up
The world of spices is huge! And there are plenty of spices that you can use to enhance the taste of coconut water. This works best if you only stir in small quantities. Ginger powder or cinnamon, for example, go particularly well with it. You can also try nutmeg and pepper or - if you're brave - use a little chili. Depending on how well stocked your spice rack is, you're sure to find something to try out some unusual creations.
Blended, not stirred: Smoothies with coconut water
This fine drink also makes a wonderful base ingredient in smoothies and goes well with everything. The fresh juice also makes a change from milk and plant-based drinks in smoothies. Here you can find a KoRo recipe for a berry variant with coconut water.
Coconut water with an alcoholic twist
Coconut juice has also found its way into the world of cocktails and long drinks. It is mainly used to mix gin, rum and vodka. Coconut water can ensure that the taste of the alcohol is softened somewhat and adds freshness and sweetness to the drink. You can also play around with fruits, herbs and spices here too. For more sweetness in the coconut drink, we recommend coconut blossom sugar. And if you don't want to drink alcohol: coconut water is also great in mocktail recipes. For example, how about an alcohol-free piña colada made with coconut water and orange juice, refined with a little lemon?
Green, greener, coconut matcha!
Finally, we would like to introduce you to our favorite: Coconut water with matcha!
To make it, you need ½ to 1 teaspoon of matcha powder, a small amount of water heated to 80 degrees, some coconut blossom sugar if you like, 200 ml of coconut water, a few ice cubes and coconut flakes (for decoration). Start by stirring the matcha powder with a little hot water until the consistency is porridge-like. Allow the mixture to cool before adding the coconut water. Then add some coconut blossom sugar and stir well. Now fill a glass with a few ice cubes and add the matcha and coconut water mixture. Now you can garnish your drink with grated coconut - done!
