This product has a Schuko plug (type F) and is therefore compatible with almost all types of sockets in Europe. Note that sockets in Great Britain and Switzerland are not compatible with the Schuko plug (type F) we use. If you are unsure, please contact our customer service.

Operating the rice stove is child's play. This means that even beginners can start using it right away. Also before cooking rice in the rice stove, you should first wash the rice thoroughly. To do this, pour cold water over the measured rice (1 cup = one serving) in a bowl or sieve and toss it. Repeat the process until the water remains clear. Then add rice, fresh water and salt to the inner pot of the rice stove and close the lid. Markings in the pot insert corresponding to the number of rice cups can provide guidance on the amount of water. However, the correct water to rice ratio depends on the type of rice used; for guidelines, see the FAQ item: "What is the correct ratio of water to rice?". Only after filling should the rice stove be connected to the power circuit. The power indicator will light up. Press the toggle switch down to start the cooking process. Do not open the rice stove during the cooking process. Once all the water has evaporated, the rice stove automatically switches to the keep-warm mode. The power indicator goes off and the keep warm indicator turns on. The rice is ready. Carefully open the lid, let the steam escape and stir the rice. Serve the rice or close the lid again to keep the rice warm. You can use the steamer insert to cook vegetables in the rice stove while the rice is cooking. Before first use, clean all parts with a soft sponge. We also recommend boiling the pot with half a liter of water and without rice for about 20 minutes. All important information about the operation, cleaning and commissioning of our rice stove can be found in the enclosed instruction manual. When the device is not in use, the plug should not be connected to the socket. All parts must be completely dry before you use the device.
As always, we at KoRo have not made the decision easy, which rice stove we include in our range. We decided on a high-quality basic rice stove, which, in addition to its easy handling, scores with a large capacity and a favorable price. Our rice stove, Mr. Rice Guy, has a non-stick coating that prevents rice from sticking and allows for easy cleaning. In addition to the electric rice stove, the set includes: a measuring cup, a rice spoon and a steamer insert. The latter allows for gentle steaming of vegetables and fish during rice cooking. In addition, other cereals and pseudo cereals as well as legumes such as lentils or beans can also be prepared in our rice stove. Visually, Mr. Rice Guy convinces with a noble silver-black design and cool KoRo logo.
Mr. Rice Guy is a rice stove and steamer in one. With the included steamer insert, you can easily and gently cook vegetables, fish and seafood with the rising steam while cooking rice. Steaming vegetables and co. is also possible without cooking rice at the same time. However, the rice stove should not be used as a kettle.
First of all, you can use the rice stove for rice cooked to perfection. Since the rice stove reduces the liquid to the right level, the rice in the rice stove is always perfect in terms of consistency and taste. But also other cerealspseudo cereals and legumes such as lentils can be cooked in the rice stove. With the included steamer insert, you can also easily and gently cook vegetables, fish or seafood with the rising steam while cooking rice. In addition, entire dishes can be conjured up in the rice stove. Whether porridge for breakfast or chili con/sin carne for lunch - recipes for simple dishes in the rice stove are many. However, the best creations probably result from trying them out yourself. By the way, the practical non-stick coating means that nothing can burn - just like when cooking rice.
No matter what amount of rice you want to cook, the right amount of water is crucial when preparing rice in a rice stove. So that you can prepare your favorite rice in your new rice stove with confidence, we give you the right amount of water for the most common types of rice below. The cooking times refer to 2 portions (approx. 200-260 g uncooked rice). All data are approximate values. In addition to basmati and jasmine rice, you can also prepare more sticky varieties such as sushi rice or sticky rice in our rice stove. We do not recommend preparing risotto rice, rice pudding and paella rice in our rice stove.

Not too small and not too big: Our rice stove has a capacity of 1.5 liters - that is, of a large bubble bottle. Since the rice expands during cooking, you should fill the rice stove with a maximum of 1040 g of uncooked rice. This makes 8 large portions of rice - aka Meal-Prep for the whole week.
A temperature sensor in the rice stove monitors the temperature inside the device during rice cooking. As long as water is present in the rice stove, the temperature remains constant at 100 degrees Celsius. However, as soon as the water has completely evaporated or has been absorbed by the rice, the temperature inside the rice stove rises and the sensor automatically turns the rice stove off or into keep-warm mode. Then you know that the rice is ready. The prerequisite for the correct cooking time is accordingly the correct amount of water depending on the type of rice used. You can find a table with the recommended water/rice ratio under the FAQ item: "What is the correct ratio of water and rice?
With our rice stove, it doesn't matter if you have 2 people, 4 people or a whole 8 hungry guests sitting at the table. Mr. Rice Guy delivers up to 8 servings of perfectly cooked rice at the same time - by one serving we mean one cup (100-130 g) of uncooked rice. Even if you want to quickly cook just one portion of rice, our rice stove reliably conjures up evenly cooked rice. Husked rice for one person is already cooked after about 15 minutes.
How many grams of rice you should plan for per person depends on whether you want to serve the rice as a side dish or as a main course. For a side dish portion, we recommend about 60 grams of uncooked rice per person. On the other hand, if the rice is the main component of your meal, you can calculate 100-130 g per person. In the context of a rice stove, the amount of rice is often expressed in "cups". The cup is a unit of measurement for volume from American cuisine. A cup of rice is usually about 100-130 g of uncooked rice - that is, a large portion for one person. That is why cups and portions are often used synonymously for rice.
You can download the instruction manual for our rice stove here in pdf format. It is also enclosed with your rice stove in printed form.
No, as a rule, rice cannot burn in the rice stove. This is made possible by the practical non-stick coating and a sensor that automatically switches the rice stove off or into keep-warm mode as soon as all the water has evaporated. A slight caking of rice, on the other hand, can always occur. In most cases, this can be avoided by washing the rice beforehand. Washing reduces the starch in the rice and the chance that it will stick to the bottom. You can also prevent sticking by rubbing the inner pot with butter or olive oil.
Rice that does not use starch as a binding agent (e.g. sushi or sticky rice) should be washed before cooking. There are several reasons for this: First, by rinsing, you remove impurities (unlikely in our rice ) from the rice. Secondly, your basmati rice will only get its perfectly fluffy consistency without the excess starch that can be removed during washing. In addition, by washing your rice, you reduce the risk of it caking in the pot or rice stove. To wash the rice, it's best to cover it in a bowl of cold water, swirl it and work it with your hands in circular motions. The starch will make the water cloudy. Repeat the process until the water remains clear.
White basmati rice for one person is usually cooked in the rice stove in about 15 minutes. With whole-grain basmati rice, however, you can assume about twice the cooking time, i.e. 30 minutes. The rice stove switches off automatically or switches to keep-warm mode as soon as all the water has evaporated or has been completely absorbed into the rice. It is important to add the right amount of water depending on the type of rice you are using. You can find more information about this under the FAQ item: "What is the correct ratio of water and rice?".
Thanks to the practical non-stick coating, cleaning our rice stove is super easy. Before cleaning, you should unplug the appliance and let it cool down completely. The removable inner pot can be cleaned with warm water and a little dishwashing liquid. Make sure that the non-stick coating is not scratched by rough sponges or the like. Therefore, you should not put the inner pot in the dishwasher, just like coated pans. If a thin layer of rice sticks to the bottom, simply soak the inner pot in warm water for half an hour before cleaning. The inside of the rice stove can also be wiped out with a damp sponge. And after each cooking process, you should also remove and wash out the small collection container for the condensed water vapor.
One of the advantages of a rice stove is that it is guaranteed to work: Since the rice stove reduces the liquid to the right level, the rice in the rice stove is always perfect in terms of consistency and taste. In addition, the non-stick coating prevents rice from burning. It is also impossible for the water to boil over. Therefore, the rice stove does not need further attention after switching on and you can devote yourself to other food components in a relaxed manner. Keeping rice warm and reheating it is also possible with a rice stove. Another advantage of a rice stove is the uncomplicated preparation of large quantities of rice, which often cause difficulties when cooking in a saucepan. In addition, it is more energy efficient to cook rice in a rice stove instead of in a saucepan on the stove. So even if you want to save money and do something good for the environment, a rice stove is worth considering!

I love this rice cooker

I’m going to be honest, for this price I wasn’t expecting much but holy moly it surprised me best way possible!!
I have tried this rice cooker for about two months now and I absolutely love it! It makes perfect rice every time and never fails, the “warm” setting does really keep the rice warm after it’s done cooking! And I love how incredible easy it is to clean the rice cooker!!! You just have to detach the screw on the back holding the lid together and then lift the whole lid off and clean it throughly with soap and warm water, I love that because it makes cleaning it so much easier!! Then just let it air dry and when its dry just screw the lid back on! You can also unplug the actual plug from the rice cooker so you can carefully clean the actual rice cooker.

Unnecessary / Does not deliver what it promises

No matter which rice I use, no matter whether I wash it beforehand or not, no matter how much water I pour in, it always burns to the bottom if I don't stir it regularly while cooking, which of course then makes the rice stove completely pointless... Simply putting rice and water in, pressing the button and having "perfect rice" in a few minutes without constantly looking at it is simply not the case here. It's not the coating, I've always used the pot carefully with the plastic spoon provided, washed it by hand/not in the dishwasher, but I've had the problems mentioned above since I first used it.
Now the reason why I am only writing a review after three years is that this appliance frustrates me every time I try it again after months. Simply wasted space in the kitchen and, above all, wasted money! I can only warmly recommend everyone to refrain from buying this rice stove and rather boil the rice conventionally in a simple pot, turn down the heat, stir once and then leave to stand until the rice is "finished". (Or buy a proper rice stove on Amazon or elsewhere...) I really like Koro and am always happy with the tea and snacks I buy, but the rice stove is simply not it.

Easy to use, perfect results, easy to clean and store - excellent value for money.

This rice stove is simply fantastic! The rice is perfect every time without burning. Cleaning is child's play and the appliance can be stored compactly. The practical cooking insert is ideal for vegetables, and I have even cooked eggs directly with the rice in the water - they also turned out perfectly. The price-performance ratio is absolutely satisfactory. Highly recommended for anyone who values ease of use and excellent results! I am delighted.

Top product with plenty of capacity

I was reluctant to buy a rice stove for a long time, I thought it couldn't be that much better than in a normal pot. A mistake, as I realized from the very first time I used it. No soggy rice, no sticking, individually perfect grains of rice and the full enjoyment of rice without having to worry about anything sticking to the bottom. Truly a dream

Coating comes off

Unfortunately, the coating on the inner pot came off after 2 years, despite proper use and cleaning, until then we were very happy with the rice stove. Koro has provided a 20% partial refund, but it is still annoying.

Always overflows and rice burns at the bottom

Unfortunately, I am very dissatisfied with the rice stove. The rice burns at the bottom and the rice stove overflows with every use, regardless of whether rice is prepared for 2 or 4 people.
